Killary Gaelforce Adventure Races
Adventure racing used to be something for the few, now it is something for us all. KILLARY GAELFORCE has an event for everyone whether you are just starting to exercise for your first 10km, have never tried an adventure race before and are looking for a shorter distance to ease your self in, or for those who have caught the adventure racing bug and want to take on a big personal challenge.
We bring adventure to you! 2015 see’s our iconic event GAELFORCE WEST taking place for the 10th year. It is the only event of its kind in Ireland that sees all 1,700 competitors complete the same 67km course. In 2006 Gaelforce West was born with 170 hardy souls taking it on year one. This has grown over the years and seen adventure racing take off in Ireland.
KILLARY GAELFORCE does not stand still and each year we bring a new event to the calendar and 2015 is no different as March 7th see's the inaugural GAELFORCE MOUNTAIN RUN take place., a 22km mountain run in the northern Maamturk Mountains.
Glassilaun Watersports Fun Day In Aid Of CARI
Watersports Day started in 1995 and has raised well over 50,000 to date for abused and neglected children. It offers a chance to try new exciting activities such as scuba diving, kayaking and boat rides for a couple of euro. There is a very popular sandcastle competition which is great fun, children's races, pony rides, a bouncy castle and slide, teas coffees, sweet shop and BBQ. People come from far and wide to support, take part or just chill while watching the boats and soaking up the friendly athmosphere.
